I have closely worked with over 3000 successful engagements for the last 20+ years - coaching, mentoring and motivating business professionals in Leadership/Productivity Improvement/Career Transition one at a time. My methodology is two-fold:    
(a) influencing change to bolster strengths and overcome weaknesses to positively impact profitability and performance;     
(b) identifying key drivers that catalyze individuals to assume accountability thereby improving their personal/team contributions.

My career history comprises of Senior Management positions in Marketing and General Management roles with MNCs like Tata's, subsidiaries of Unilever & British American Tobacco, and Gulf News in India and Dubai. It goes without saying, these experiences have given me the desired depth and expertise to deliver extraordinary results in coaching Executives and Managers from diverse specializations and cultures!

    Marketing Mgr/Regional Mgr/Area Sales Mgr. for , G. Claridge Co. Ltd/Lakme` Ltd (Unilever Group), VST Ltd (British American Tobacco Group)

    â–  Managed Sales teams nationally and regionally for diverse consumer products (in publications, cosmetics and cigarette industries) between 1975 and 1981. â–  Oversaw Sales, Office Administration and Distribution teams ranging between 20 to 50 personnel. â–  Held profit center responsibility for G. Claridge & Co Ltd. and Lakme` Ltd. â–  Recorded revenue increases between 10% to 15% per annum resulting market share improvements by 2% to 3% in both Lakme` Ltd. and VST Ltd. for my Region/Area respectively.

    Circulation Manager - Middle East., Gulf News, Dubai.

    â–  Led team to turn around English daily newspaper in Dubai on brink of closure and trebled circulation within 3 years.
    â–  Managed circulation staff of 30; examined readership profile; found predominantly expatriate with needs for sports news, current affairs and job opportunities; devised dual strategy to add page with classified ads from other leading newspapers as free service to readers and to generate leads for new advertising sales;
    â–  Ramped up street sales based on demographics; instituted recognizable uniforms for vendors; initiated daily prizes; expanded distribution to Bahrain, Qatar and Oman; provided on temporary basis free papers in highly visible traffic areas; devised attractive incentive programs for circulation staff. Results: Today Gulf News is largest circulated, most highly respected English daily in Middle East; dual strategy became win/win for both advertiser and reader.

    General Manager - North, Media Tranasia Ltd.

    â–  Managed a team of 5 Editors, 5 Sales Managers, Circulation Manager and 15+ assisting staff in Northern Region. Had profit center responsibility for all the magazines.
    â–  Initiated/Launched largest selling computer magazine in India in 1987. Conducted statistical research, surveys, focus group interviews and discussions with industry experts; studied demographics and trends of computer manufacturers, end-users and comparative media; conceptualized format; selected name; recruited editorial and sales staff; designed marketing strategy e.g. direct mailers, newsstand promotions, free sample mailings with aggressive follow-up and long-term subscription discounts; developed advertising strategy; cemented technical collaboration with Ziff Davis Publishing (PC Magazine and PC World) for use of articles. Results: Reached 50,000 paid circulation within year; became profitable after 4 months; magazine ranked among top 3 in media segment; achieved advertising ratio of 50%.

    â–  Managed a team of 4 Regional Managers and 40 employees nationally to raise resources for the organization through 1000+ schools, fund-raising events, corporate donations, and press-appeals through corporate sponsorships/Ad Agencies/media sponsorships.
    â–  Introduced/Launched major direct mail fund-raising campaigns generating additional $1+ million to the resources.

    â–  Developed turnkey Direct Mailer strategy for NGOs to generate fund-raising for current and proposed projects.
    â–  Worked closely with a leading NGO, Child Relief & You (CRY), to create an effective Direct Mailer campaign - Identified historical subject areas with highest success rate; selected projects, storylines and included items for tactile experience; utilized of surveys and focus-groups; procured mass mailing lists fitting desired donor profiles; developed several mailers to ascertain acceptance; short-listed mailers for further penetration; expanded progressively; executed 'thank-you appeal' packs and 'follow-up appeal' packs at least 8 times annually to get repeat donations from 'first-time donors; computerized systems and procedures; trained staff to replicate process. Results: Achieved dollar cost/benefit ratio of 1:3 in cold-mail, improving to 1:5 within 12 months after executing 8 follow-up packs; accomplished between 1.75% and 2.00% success rate; developed long-term replicable process.
